The ‘2408 Release’, as SAP calls its S/4HANA update, rolls out automatically and improves your SAP Fiori user experience. As a user, you benefit immediately from the latest innovations in your daily work. In this blog, we highlight four of these important innovations of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2408 Release for SAP Fiori and your user interface.
1. Introduction of Joule, the generative AI co-pilot
You have a new colleague: meet Joule. After a successful, phased rollout in the SAP Early Adopter Care programme, Joule is now fully integrated into SAP Fiori and your user interface.
Joule is your generative AI co-pilot that helps you minimise manual tasks and increase your productivity. Let Joule know what you need and you will immediately receive the answer or the data you are looking for. For example, do you want lightning-fast access to the applications and data you need? Just ask Joule and it will be taken care of.

2. Smart summarisation for SAP Fiori
Another important innovation in the field of SAP Business AI is the addition of the smart summarisation function. This function extracts the essential information from object pages of SAP Fiori applications and displays it in a clear overview. Scrolling through long texts in search of key information is now a thing of the past. Thanks to smart summarisation, you have the data you need at your fingertips. This helps you to collaborate more efficiently or to easily take follow-up actions, such as sharing the requested information with your colleagues.

3. New ‘easy filter’ functionality
Want to easily find what you’re looking for? The new ‘easy filter’ function in SAP Fiori will help you do just that. This innovation makes it possible to select data in so-called ‘list report-based’ SAP Fiori apps. Describe in your own language what you want to filter on and the Business AI will quickly and clearly list the correct results for you.

4. Targeted in-app communication
SAP is also taking an important step in the area of in-app communication. From now on, important system changes will be communicated in a different way. In the app, you will now receive notifications about changes that are specifically relevant to you. SAP looks at your role and how you use the system. Based on this, SAP determines which system changes you will receive information about. This way, you will always stay informed without being flooded with information that is not relevant to you.
