Pepijn, what was your client’s challenge?
The challenge was to be able to display and follow up the operations of a production order in a user-friendly, well-organised and visual way, and to be able to navigate to the different transactions from that visual diagram.
What solution did you implement?
The solution was that we could visualise production orders via a ladder diagram, but actually for any type of process, and that it could also be transferred to the cloud. We created a component in the front end via SAPUI5 that works on the basis of an object type and object ID. In the backend, we link an adapter to it that contains the logic for retrieving the information. The effort in the frontend is minimal and we can use the backend to direct the entire diagram according to our wishes. The solution is easily expandable and maintenance-friendly. The component itself can be called up from other transactions and apps to offer an additional visual character of the process or entity

What was the result of this solution?
For each order, the customer sees the status of all operations based on coloured blocks. He can easily click through to more information about the operation. The user sees the dependencies of his operation, the sequences and feedback at a glance. This is an enormous added value for order tracking. In addition, the solution is built in such a way that we can use it for other processes by adding adapters.
